The Sikh shrines related to Guru Nanak at Sultanpur Lodhi include historic Ber Sahib Gurdwara. Patiala was the capital of erstwhile pricncely state of Patiala. The places worthy of visiting are the Motibagh Palace, Sheesh Mehal and the Bees Moti Bagh Sanctuary. Ludhiana an important industrial city, is known as the Manchester of India. It is famous the world over for its hosiery goods. The famous Punjab Agricultural University (P.A.U.) is situated on the outskirts of the city. Rural Olympics of Qila Raipur, Chhapper Mela and Kissan Mela at PAU attracts lakhs of visitors every year. Jalandhar is the modern industrial town of Punjab, is famous for its sports goods & handtools industry. Places to see here a Jama Masjid, Mausoleum of Imam Nasir, Devi Talab, Shiva Temple. Anandpur Sahib is located on the banks of the River Sutlej, is an important place of pilgrimage. It was here that Guru Gobind Singh baptised the first five members of the Sikh faith known as the Panch Pyaras.
