Sidhpur Village

Sidhpur village is a small village of Kapurthala district. It is a 10 kilometers far away from Kapurthala city. It is situated on Kapurthala-Nakodar road. There are near about five hundred voters. People of different religion are living here like that Sikhs, Hindus & Muslims etc. There is a belief that there was a place of Sidh from that time it became Sidhpur. In these days this place is famous for the name of Dhan Dhan Baba Sidhji. Every year at that place big fair is celebrates which is very famous. In this village every festival is celebrates with full devotion and great zeal. There are various religions places viz. Valmiki Mandir (the Temple of Valmik), Gurudwara Sahib and Muslim saint place. Everyone pays respect to them. There is a belief that every one gets his wish who bow there sincerely.   The people of village live together calmly and peacefully. The main occupations of the villagers are diary farming and agriculture. There are several oldest things which bring us back Viz. old spinning wheels, wells, watermills, handfans and old building etc. The fairs of village are an unmatchable identity. You will get a deep peace of mind in this village. The favorite dishes of the villagers are maize chapatti (makki di roti), vegetable of mustard (sarson da saag) and cold lassi. The hospitality of each village is same it may be few different. In fact, in another village you will be insisting by the atmosphere and peaceful surrounding in order to come in village. Ladies sangeet is admirable and attractive. People enjoy the running of bulls and oxen at the rural games in the village. People come here to see these rural games from different places.  The real enjoyment is in the villages of Punjab.
